John started his career as a teacher in Illinois. He moved his family to San Diego in 1960 and began working for the Grossmont Union High School District as a History Instructor at El Capitan High School. He later transferred to Chaparral High School, the primary continuation / alternative school for the GUHSD, where he continued to teach until his retirement in 1995. John became a member of Grossmont Schools Federal Credit Union in 1961 and has been on the Supervisory Committee for the past 5 years.
