Grossmont Schools Federal Credit Union

GSFCU Member Testimonials

I have been a member of Grossmont Schools Federal Credit Union for over 38 years.  Each and every staff person of GSFCU over these years has always been friendly, well organized and oriented to my specific needs.

They have helped me through the purchase of my cars, my home and starting a college fund for my granddaughter. They are the keepers of my checking and savings accounts and I have never had a single problem. I highly recommend GSFCU for all your financial needs.

Mount Miguels successful Academy of Hospitality and Tourism Management Program relies heavily on its Advisory Board for guidance and student opportunities.  GSFCU has been an instrumental member of this group that has genuine concern and support for the academic success of our students.

GSFCU staff members are always ready to volunteer their expertise to our business simulation class called Virtual Enterprise.  GSFCU staff members serve on professional panels that review and advise our students Business Plan Presentations and Annual Report Presentations.  Additionally, GSFCU staff members volunteer as business competition judges for our successful Virtual Enterprise Business Competition and Trade Fair.  GSFCU support has had an extremely positive impact on this event and student achievement.

The quality of service I receive from GSFCU has been a pleasant surprise and has been a true employee benefit for me. GSFCU has shown over the past years a great commitment to their members. They play a big part in our local community through their vast involvement in education as well as East County district programs.  We are proud to have them as our financial institution.

The GSFCU is a very significant financial institution for my entire family.  I remember establishing accounts for automatic payroll deductions when I first started my employment with the Grossmont Union High School District in 1976. Currently I have savings accounts, checking accounts and loans with GSFCU.  My husband and I, along with our three adult children have all benefited from excellent customer service and a variety of services this institution has to offer.  We enjoy personal service and quick turn-around on documents when dealing with the GSFCU staff.  Ive even been on the receiving end of personal service at my school site by a GSFCU representative when I was on a tight time-line to get documents signed and unable to get to the credit union during business hours.  Customer service doesnt get much better than that!  GSFCU really cares about their customers.  I highly recommend membership.

"I became a member of GSFCU during a fundraising opportunity for one of our district high schools.  Their friendly, customer service-oriented manner in making means available for this endeavor, was a formula for success."

"GSFCU is a convenient alternative to public banking because of their hometown feel and their top-notch customer service.  Their commitment to our district is not just lip service.  A perfect example of their dedication to the events and programs of our district is demonstrated by their involvement and attendance at each of our monthly governing board meetings.  GSFCU is truly a community partner to the educational community in East County."

"As the new Chief Business Officer of the Grossmont Union High School District in 2006, I was surprised to learn that the districts' Primary Financial Institution relationship was held by the local credit union serving our employees, and not one of the large regional banks that had served the district for over 20 years.  I quickly learned why.  Not only had Grossmont Schools Federal Credit Union prevailed in our "Request For Proposal for Financial Services" in August 2005, going head-to-head with several major financial institutions in terms of services and pricing, our Fiscal Services, Food Services and ASB staff members have raved about their "service after the sale"."

"GSFCU has provided us with a custom array of services, pricing, and information delivery options that were simply not available from any of the "other" financial institutions.  They have clearly "raised the bar" as a business partner for the Grossmont Union High School District."

When Sharon and I considered arrangements for a car loan, we looked for options using the usual criteriai.e., competitive rates and other costs, informative and competent representatives, convenience of payment through payroll deduction, etc.  In talking with two of my colleagues, I learned that a positive experience had come from securing a loan at Grossmont Schools Federal Credit Union.  That, coupled with GSFCU CEO Steve Devans active participation on our Grossmont College Foundation Board and GSFCUs generous support of our Foundation events, led to giving them a careful review.  We were very pleased that GSFCUs loan package and our initial interaction with the staff there exceeded our expectations.  Our GSFCU car loan has been a rewarding financial arrangement ever since, and we look forward to continuing that relationship well into our years in retirement.

A few years ago, my wife and I changed from a bigger Credit Union here in town to the Grossmont Schools Federal Credit Union.  We talk all the time about how much money we have saved making the switch, especially that dreaded $1.50 charge at the ATM that we always seemed to get at our old Credit Union.  With the Grossmont Schools FCU, we can find an ATM anywhere in town that is free.  I like to tell people that we get "Big League" service with "Minor League" fees and lines.

When the East County Retired Teachers approached the Grossmont Schools Federal Credit Union several years ago for help with an organization project, Steve Devan, the CEO, welcomed us as valued friends. This credit union does so much more than offer the most efficient financial services to members; it seeks to become a community partner by initiating, promoting and involving itself in programslike the CRTA Directory or its own financial literacy outreach to the schools in the Grossmont region.  These positive accomplishments educate and enrich.
